Founded in 1999 by Jamey Hite, we specialize in custom homes, Douglas Lake waterfront properties, home additions, structural repairs, and major remodels. As skilled East Tennessee builders, our mission is to provide you with the best building experience possible by offering honest pricing, an organized approach, and a listening ear.
Three generations of the Hite family have built homes across East Tennessee, and that experience shapes how we work today. The beginnings of Hite Construction
Jamey Hite founded Hite Construction Company in 1999, carrying forward a family trade that goes back three generations. His father and grandfather both built homes in East Tennessee before him, and that same standard shows up on every job today: show up, do the work right, stand behind it after the check clears.
Since 1999, that's meant building custom homes and lakefront properties across Greeneville, Newport, Dandridge, and Johnson City, along with major remodels and commercial work. It's still a family business, and every project gets the same crew and the same standards behind the Hite name.

A message from Jamey
"I grew up around this. My dad and my granddad both built homes in East Tennessee, and I started Hite Construction in 1999 because it's the only work I ever really wanted to do.
A lot has changed since then, but the way we do the job hasn't. We show up when we say we will, we tell you the truth about what something costs and how long it'll take, and we stand behind the work after the check clears. That's true whether it's a full custom build on Douglas Lake or a bathroom remodel down the road from where I grew up.
We're still a family business. My wife Jessie runs the office, and the crew we work with treats every job like it's going in their own neighborhood, because a lot of the time it is. If you're thinking about building or fixing up your home, I'd like to hear about it."

Licensed, insured, and accountable
Hite Construction holds TN Contractor License #70800 (Classification BC — Residential, Commercial & Industrial), with a monetary limit of $3,000,000. We're licensed and insured, with certificates of insurance available on request, and we back every project with a one-year limited workmanship warranty from substantial completion (manufacturer warranties apply separately). We're BBB Accredited (A+ rating, accredited since May 2024).
